I had the absolute honor of meeting the nicest people today! If you read many of my blogs you will learn that I usually always comment on how nice my clients are. However, these wonderful people today were just great people!
I was able to save the fiberglass bathtub that had over 14 hairline cracks and they absolutely loved the new bathtub! It feels do good to work in someone's home that wants you in the home! They want a great job at a fair price and they want you to respect their home and them! Now, what amazes me is the fact that when you do the job correct and really don't take shortcuts but do the job the way it should be done then people are just so appreciative!
The husband had no Idea his wife had set up the appointment so he was little upset when I arrived. He thought I was going to rip out the tile and replace the tub! lol. So I showed him my website and within 10 minutes he was offering me a cup of coffee! We sat there for about 15 minutes talking and learned our daughters suffer from the same disease..... neither one of our daughters are able to pick up after themselves! Lol. His Bathtub took about 3 hours total. I had nothing do after the job so we grabbed some hot dogs, cokes and set on the back deck for about 45 minutes just talking. I thanked them for being so nice and Mr. Gaither said "John, I think this is yours". I had forgotten to collect my money!! I quickly thought and said no sir it belongs to my wife, I will take it to her!
This tub came a long way the cracks were filled in with fiberglass resin. The resin was hand rubbed to work into the cracks then a 'Hot' chemical was dripped onto the cracks so they would melt into the surrounding fiberglass to create a solid unit.
Some braces were placed so the tub would not flex and crack again and to finish it off 9 coats of synthetic porcelain coating was applied with an HVLP applicator.
Once again I thanked my Father for the knowledge he blessed we with to restore this bathtub and I thanked him for blessing me with great clients that I now consider friends! I thanked my Father in Jesus' Name!
It feels so great to work for Christians. I honestly don't know if the majority of work I do is for Christians but I know they are honest, decent people and I usually get a good feeling from just being in the presence of people like that!
